Paul is a veteran of the US Air Force where he was trained as a digital electronic system repairman, unfortunately no civilian jobs were available in this field when he was discharged in 1974. Following military service he completed two years of college on the GI bill, then went to work as a mechanic working on Honda motorcycles, and later Honda automobiles.
Paul has been involved in motorcycle racing since 1973, having won races in each of the decades since then as well as constructing winning engines for other riders and also drivers of mini-sprint cars. The thing that interests him is the fine adjustments that make a machine work better and better, as well as improvement as a rider.
